Who you are:

You’re an experienced network engineer who wants to help us build a modern, scalable, and secure network with global reach. You enjoy working with the latest networking technologies in a rapidly growing, cloud-centric environment. You constantly think about network security, performance, and resilience to make sure that our teams around the world can deliver critical breaking information to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a robust network architecture to address both wired and wireless network needs at all Dataminr locations
  • Maintain and expand secure WAN connectivity between Dataminr offices and various public cloud providers
  • Design, configure, and deploy network connections, hardware, software, and services while ensuring redundancy and reliability
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues, monitor utilization, and provide capacity planning reports
  • Create and maintain detailed network diagrams of the environment
  • Coordinate with various network vendors to optimize the network topology, grow or change services, and set service levels
  • Research emerging network technologies and run proof of concepts to evaluate new products and solutions

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex computer networks
  • Strong working knowledge of IPv4/v6, BGP, IPSec VPN, DNS, DHCP, SSH, and RADIUS
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking products, including routers, switches, ASA firewalls, and AnyConnect VPN
  • Good understanding of Juniper networking products, with other, additional, vendors a plus (ex: Ruckus)
  • Experience working in Linux environments, setting up BIND DNS and FreeRADIUS
  • Experience with interconnecting physical office networks to cloud providers (Amazon, Google), including configuring and managing VPN tunnels to cloud providers
  • Experience with cloud-hosted VOIP and configuring QoS
  • Strong commitment to thorough documentation and knowledge sharing by maintaining up-to-date network diagrams of the environment
  • Self-motivation and an ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
