Job Title: Principal Application Developer
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Job Duties:
ADP Technology Services, Inc. seeks a Principal Application Developer in our Parsippany, New Jersey location. Responsibilities: Participate in the software development life cycle (SDLC), including planning, designing, development, testing, monitoring, support, implementation, performance testing, reviews, and demonstrations. Collaborate with team members to design, develop, test, and refine software deliverables. Create back-end software applications for large-scale analytics systems. Develop code, perform unit and functional tests, and establish software application development standards and practices. Design reusable software components utilizing various frameworks. Develop mobile delivery applications for large-scale analytics and Big Data solutions. Research, recommend, and introduce new technologies and new uses of existing technologies. Participate in software project planning and release management. Participate in cloud native application development to stream data from on-premise to the cloud. Decouple existing monolithic applications into resilient container-based microservices. Create web-based data connectors to ingest data from external enterprise products. Measure product usage using log analysis tools. Propose product ideas to Senior Leadership Team that align with key initiatives of the organization.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field plus eight (8) years of related experience. Employer will accept a master's degree plus eight (6) years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree plus eight (8) years of experience.
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of experience must include: Java/JEE technologies; Client-side MVC technologies; Object-oriented programming; Java 7; REST; Cloud-native technologies; Containers and Kubernetes; Application monitoring tools, including Splunk, Dynatrace, PagerDuty; PL/SQL; Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); AngularJS; Git; Bower; and Gulp.
