Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Principal Architect of Procurement & Finance applications to be responsible for the technical architecture and strategy of all software applications and systems related to the procurement and finance functions at NBCUniversal. This responsibility includes collaborating with other technical and business leaders to create and communicate the technical vision and strategy to all parties; collaborating on critical adopt/buy/create decisions for products and platforms; creating forward-thinking, cloud-native, and integrated application and platform architectures, ensuring that design patterns and cloud services are used to our full advantage; coaching and mentoring the engineering workforce through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support; and actively contributing to architecture design improvements and application infrastructure prototyping throughout the full engineering lifecycle for critical applications and platforms.
Your technical knowledge and experience, combined with your ability to coach and motivate others, will help establish the portfolio of human resources applications that utilize cloud services in a measurable and predictable manner and provide quantifiable business and technical advantages. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing a strong sense of culture and community within the organization to help build a world-class technology organization and culture.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong track record in architecting, presenting, implementing, and deploying reliable, integrated, cost-effective, scalable, and secure solutions that balance complex business, financial, and technical goals.
  • Experience in creating complete, integrated solutions that include SaaS adoption and integration, third-party product hosting and integration, and creation of new functionality using secure cloud-native solutions that take full advantage of the public cloud services.
  • Strong experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • An investigative and collaborative demeanor and track record - Ability to collaborate closely and well with others as well as a demonstrated ability to perform deep technical investigations to determine ground truth and potential improvement and solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, including visual presentation skills.
  • An inquisitive mind that wants to proactively learn more
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or Computer Science preferred) or Equivalent Work Experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AWS certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional or other relevant cloud certifications.
  • Understanding of GCP and Azure public cloud offerings
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts and HTTP, TCP, DNS, UDP, IPv4/IPv6 networking and protocols.
  • A proven track record of migrating significant legacy IT applications and tools to modern, cloud-first architectures
  • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
  • Previous experience in designing and/or building procurement or finance solutions
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
