The Role:

As Principal Engineer at Intersection, you will be at the forefront of Intersection’s IoT practice, helping to create technology that will push the limits of the internet-integrated physical world. You’ll be an integral part of efforts to help shape, develop our strategic capabilities. You will also implement and manage customer and product solutions, taking advantage of in-house creative capabilities, data, infrastructure while leveraging both proprietary in-house platforms like LinkNYC, as well as the best in commercial off the shelf technology. You’ll have the opportunity to solve problems that have not been solved before, helping to export solutions through prototyping involving media/integration/computer vision/hardware. This is not your typical custom dev shop, as we maintain IP on all products we build.

What you will accomplish:

• Develop relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Develop a deep understanding of the business environment and strategy
• Identify technology and product opportunities within the company and marketplace
• Develop products bringing digital capabilities to the physical world
• Shepherd agile practices and process at scale across products and projects
• Be a true innovation partner (act as a sherpa to help clients understand what’s possible)
• Be a product visionary when it comes to user-driven experience in the physical space, using persona based tech to drive interaction.
• Helping drive from ambiguity towards something tangible through an iterative process

What we are looking for:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
• Significant experience in the field of engineering and/or product management
• Experience working in a consulting or agency environment
• Track record of building successful tech-based products and platforms
• A true passion for building and enhancing technology solutions
• Being a hands-on full stack engineer is integral to success in this position.
• Proven experience working with customers and stakeholders at the highest levels
• Strong capabilities of observation, analysis, synthesis
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
