Your role:

As a Principal Engineer at Gooten, you’ll join a close-knit set of engineering teams to build the future of our order routing and logistics systems destined to serve millions of orders a day. This individual will create the technical strategy and direction for the systems that support our order routing and logistics systems and improve our product and delivery capabilities.

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Engineer who is passionate about delivering highly critical technical projects end-to-end. The ideal candidate will be motivated and extremely knowledgeable about distributed system architecture and enabling teams to ship software with high quality. This is a fully remote role.

How you'll power eCommerce:

  • Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality, high-throughout software
  • Provide architecture and technical direction for frontend and backend systems
  • Be hands-on to help the team to design, develop, test, and deliver software
  • Research and pioneer the adoption of new technologies
  • Partner with leadership to ensure operational success of your teams

You should have:

  • 8+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications and systems
  • High proficiency with one or more of the following technologies: Clojure, C#, JavaScript (Node.js and/or React), Java, Python, SQL and/or NoSQL data stores
  • Master-level knowledge of software design patterns and standards, REST and HTTP interaction, and the software development life cycle
  • Proficiency with Azure or other cloud services
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
  • A collaborative, flexible, and positive mindset

Bonus points!

  • Experience with B2B and/or eCommerce products
  • Experience creating and improving cloud-based infrastructure
  • Experience creating and improving automated test frameworks
  • Master’s degree or further education or experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field
