Maven is looking for a talented Principal Engineer to join our fantastic engineering team. This person will be the right-hand person to the SVP Engineering for “all things technical” across all of Engineering.
As a Principal Engineer at Maven, you will:
- Be a strong engineering voice and decision maker for Maven’s technical strategy
- Refine and shepherd the technical decision making process
- Act as a technical partner for teams across all of Maven
- Mentor and sponsor engineers
- Dive into acute problems of both technical and process nature
- Spread learning and knowledge sharing across the organization
- Contribute code to production systems
- Help leveling up our technical excellence
- Represent Maven technically, internally and externally, on critical projects
- Play an active role in keeping our technical debt at a reasonable level
- Help make sure we strike the right balance between stable/boring technology and experimentation
- Be glue
- Actively represent Maven at conferences/meetups/social media to help build Maven’s engineering brand and attract great engineers
We are looking for you to bring:
- Have led multiple impactful engineering-wide process changes
- Enjoys writing code on production projects and owning operations of them
- Long history of developing and operating quality software
- Have been, and is still, on call for production systems
- Have successfully mentored and sponsored multiple engineers
- Worked in multiple places of the stack (frontend/apps/backend/infra/security)
- Startup experience
- 14+ years of industry experience
