Job Duties (Summary)
The Principal Software Engineer is a key technology architect and leader with the knowledge, experience, and drive to architect and design cutting edge, high quality, robust, and scalable products at Neustar. These products realize Neustar's strategy for growth by providing our customers the full set of insights to help them make better informed decisions. The role is based in the US with the following set of expectations:

  • Leadership in Architecture, Design, Development and Deployment of large-scale JAVA/Spring, MapReduce/Spark/Hive based product and platforms
  • Leadership in guiding distributed teams in architectural and development activities of the Software Products & Services
  • Experience in Customer Data Platforms (CDP) associated Services and techs will be Plus
  • Open to learn and explore new toolsets and technology and innovative solutions
  • Identifying production and non-production application issues & support with teams
  • Develop technical designs based on the requirements from IT and Products team
  • Collaborate across different teams from Architecture, Design, Development, Testing and Deployment
  • Prior Experience in architecting, designing and development Data Management and Analytics tools and platforms, ETL & Data Warehouse systems is a plus


Qualifications/Education

  • Total of 10 - 15 years of total experience in the relevant IT technology space is important
  • 8 - 12 years of experience in building applications in core java
  • 3+ years of experience in building application based on spring framework
  • 3+ years' experience in building and designing highly distributed enterprise applications
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in building applications in Map-Reduce/Spark/Hive tech stack
  • Self-motivated, Agile, excellent collaborative skills and ability to influence diverse audiences
  • Experience working with a remote team and collaborating across multiple Time zones
  • Must have desire to work in a team environment yet be self-directed, proactive, and action oriented.
  • Proven technical Team Leading and mentoring of team experience is a plus for this senior role


Additional Information

  • Proven Experience in SQL, Map-Reduce, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Google Pub sub, DataBricks
  • Exposure to AWS, GCP Cloud implementation will be a plus
  • Strong backend engineering background, design skills, data structure, algorithm is a must
  • Exposure/understanding of front-end technology is plus
  • Exposure and proven Microservices based architectures are required
  • Experience with Hive, Big Data, Hadoop, NoSQL databases (anyone) as mentioned is required
  • Experienced in Security Risk and understanding the technology gaps
