Click has expanded their pipeline to include a focus on developing treatments for Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and additional major pipeline expansion and progression is in process.

About the Role

The Click Therapeutics Prototype team focuses on the development and early-stage testing of novel cognitive and neurobehavioral mechanisms of action for Click Therapeutics’ products. The Prototype Engineer is a key, interdisciplinary role at Click Therapeutics and works closely with the Science team to conceptualize, design and develop research prototypes for testing in clinical research projects. The Prototype Engineer provides full-stack development and product conception support, working closely with the Translational Sciences, Discovery, and Product teams to:

  • document clinical and prototype specifications via technical writing
  • prepare design mockups
  • develop and iterate coded prototypes based on feasibility and field testing
  • draft the technical aspects of intellectual property filings related to the prototypes
  • assist in developing and supporting the technology infrastructure to facilitate experiments of test designs and prototypes

The Prototype Engineer must have a collaborative, hands-on, and ownership focused approach to the position. This individual will be comfortable working with ambiguity and doing whatever is needed to convert early stage ideas into testable prototypes. This role is ideal for those seeking to take an iterative approach to developing MVPs, learning from them, and applying those learnings to future iterations. Successful team members will focus less on distribution of specific job duties and more on how to collaborate quickly to get meaningful prototypes into patients’ hands for clinical research.

This is a highly visible, creative, and agile role within a rapidly growing pre-IPO company in a nascent and fast-growing space. The role will be located in our trendy TriBeCa HQ, includes great benefits, and is an excellent wealth-building/equity opportunity for the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Science and Product Teams, translate novel scientific and clinical intervention concepts into design mockups, flows, wireframes, and animations for mobile-based MOAs and product features
  • Contribute to the end-to-end development of functional software prototypes for iterative feasibility and usability testing conducted by the Translational Science and Discovery teams
  • Assist the Science teams with developing and executing experiments for in-lab and remote testing
  • Assist with analysis, interpretation and reporting of experimental results and help determine the optimal next steps for active research projects
  • Prepare and contribute technical expertise to intellectual property filings, including technical writing and drafting of intellectual property (patent) applications

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a full-stack development role, with independent accountability for producing functional software prototypes
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and rapidly iterating with science and product teams to develop prototyped solutions based on aligned user goals rather than stringent requirements
  • Coding and Engineering skills to enable preparation of prototypes of scientific concepts and product features for testing as web or mobile applications
  • Foundational design skills, familiarity with current design tools, and basic understanding of user-centered design principles to enable wireframing and design of research prototypes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-based setting, and with diverse teams in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and extraordinary attention to detail
  • Tech savvy with confidence in the transformative potential of software as treatments
  • Initiative, enthusiasm and a problem-solving approach to new challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an engineering or computer science discipline
  • Experience with medical, psychology, neuroscience or other clinical research
  • Familiarity with React Native
  • Familiarity with scientific research software used to design and conduct experiments, including familiarity with statistical analysis and database software
