Responsibilities:

  • Write effective, scalable code and unit tests
  • Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance
  • Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with the development team to streamline code deployment.
  • Perform technical analysis of requirements
  • Build new features across the whole technology stack
  • Work with Unix / Linux distributed systems
  • Collaborate in a small, experienced, energetic team on a rapid development schedule
  • Provide technical input to the product management team as they prepare user stories for upcoming sprints
  • Code reviews


Credentials:

  • Solid understanding of Data structures and Algorithm analysis.
  • Experience with Python and advanced understanding of Python standard library/concepts
  • Understanding differences between Python2 and Python3
  • Advanced understanding of SQL and database design and performance
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one Python web framework (Django, Flask or similar)
  • Familiarity with some ORMs (Object Relational Mapper) 
  • Proficient in using & designing RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with event-driven programming
  • Postgres & Redis development experience

Experience with :

  • Automated build and deployment strategies.
  • Splunk or ELK (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana) Stack or Sumologic.
  • Amazon AWS 
  • Linux Operating Systems
  • Other technologies and ability to suggest integration solutions, including third-party APIs.

Soft skills :

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage working on multiple projects in parallel
  • Knowledgeable about other technologies and able to suggest integration solutions, including third-party APIs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills


Reports To:

  • Software Development Manager

Salary:
$100K-$110K

Our company is near major subway lines including LIRR at Madison Square Garden and PATH station. It is 2 blocks from Korea Town.
