What this role is about:
We are looking for an experienced engineer to contribute to creating world-class emergency technology by developing and executing tests based on standards, user requirements, end-user scenarios, and design specifications. People will rely on our technology in life-threatening situations, thus excellent testing and QA is essential to the success of our product.
What you’ll do:
Define, write/develop, and execute tests based on standards, user requirements, end-user scenarios, and design specifications.
Design, develop, modify and execute test cases, against web-based applications.
Perform QA engineering tasks for testing components of web-based applications.
Develop and execute test plans to perform all aspects of quality assurance, including functional, regression, and system testing.
Review product requirements and specifications in order to foresee potential issues, provide input of functional requirements and advise on design.
Make suggestions to improve testing strategies as well as utilize reporting tools (Jira) to create reports and presentations on any defects.
Contribute to and help maintain the testing framework for various types of testing (functional, load/performance, security) for web-based applications.
What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
1+ years of engineering/QA experience
Experience with testing RESTful APIs and web UI
Practical work experience writing test scripts in Python
Experience working with source control (Git) / defect tracking (JIRA) systems
Experience with browser test automation using tools like Postman
Solid understanding of software product life cycle and release processes
Experience with performance, scalability, and reliability testing methodologies of distributed systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate and work well in a cross-functional environment
Must have worked in positions which have product releases on a frequent basis
Extremely detail-oriented, possessing the ability to think outside of the box
