About the team:

Our product trust team (also known as QA) is responsible for ensuring our customers can trust the products we deliver, through validating that new features properly meet acceptance criteria, testing bug fixes, validating our product delivers the experience customers expect and working with field teams to understand where we aren’t meeting certain expectations.

 

As part of our product trust team, you will help test new features for the Turbonomic Platform which is the control system managing workload performance, cost and efficiency for Fortune 500 companies across the globe. Our QA/Product Trust team is building our automation framework to accelerate our development cycles and making a big impact. This is a hybrid position where you’ll contribute to manual processes and building automation features with the goal of increasing our automation testing.

 

We're looking for innovative QA engineers who are passionate about testing software to drive world-class quality in our platform. You will have the opportunity to learn about and test a sophisticated, distributed system encompassing a variety of cutting-edge technologies such as distributed caching, cloud computing technologies, hypervisor virtualization and advanced enterprise software.

Our technology stack consists of: Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Protobuf, REST, Angular

What you'll do in this position:

  • Design QA methodology and test approaches that validate features developed by agile teams and ensures the accuracy of the requirements.
  • Drive, scope, design and code automated tests.
  • Innovate and drive automation best practices.
  • Participate in our agile process by being an active contributor in daily standups, sprint kick-offs, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Make recommendations for improvements in how we engineer our products.
  • Execute manual and automated QA processes for new releases, and for routine maintenance. Report defects and testing status
  • Design, implement and maintain test environment in QA Lab
  • Simulate real world deployments of the products, and reproduce customer issues

We are looking for someone who...

  • Has experience writing code in Java or python or feels confident to pick it up easily.
  • Has experience testing virtualization or storage software, ideally intersecting with additional background in ANY of the following: virtualized storage, VMWare vCenter, VMware storage stack, Xen, Hyper-V, NetApp, HP3Par, VDI, flash, caching, server-side storage, Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), Cloud-native (Docker, Kubernetes, etc), thorough and careful performance studies, distributed file systems, or distributed object stores.
  • Has experience building automation frameworks and coding automated test suites.
  • Is a strong advocate for all facets of product quality (usability, scalability, maintainability, etc)
  • Has a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science (or comparable work experience)
  • At least 2 years of experience as a test engineer.

Location

We have an office right across from Grand Central Station and another larger office right outside the city in White Plains NY.
