Responsibilities:
Take a proactive role in the creation, prioritization, and execution of manual test scripts used by our Quality Assurance team to identify any and all unexpected changes in product functionality across areas like:
CloudReady features and functionality
Supported hardware components and models
3rd party enterprise infrastructure and peripherals
Important 3rd party software/websites
Ensure that engineers receive ongoing testing and feedback on all work as it is completed
Contribute to the ever-improving workflow of the Quality Assurance department to increase efficiency and eliminate sources of error.
Maintain an exceptional standard of thoroughness and accountability in executing on cross-departmental commitments and contributing to timely releases.
Serve as a resource and escalation point for other departments by:
Helping maintain a well-documented library of software, hardware, and infrastructure for testing and reference
Interfacing with Sales, Support, and Product to help identify stability issues and resolve customer concerns.
Qualifications:
Experience working in Quality Assurance on a software or hardware product
Track record of excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration
Ability to deliver on commitments while navigating multiple unknowns, imperfect information, and competing priorities
Comfortable working in scenarios without best practice, requiring improvisation and creativity
Bonus:
Familiarity with Linux, Chrome OS, and the wider OS market
Experience with Zephyr for Jira or other test management software
Experience testing complex systems that combine both first and third party hardware and software
Comfort with PC hardware, down to individual major components
