We are a 24-person team building a belief network for social good. We believe that:

• existing social media is “thin” — it is great for banter, but terrible for substantive communication;

• thin platforms are causing enormous frustration, but users have nowhere else online to go;

• no one will be surprised in 5 years when intelligent platforms have usurped thin social media; and

• there is a “dam ready to burst” of people who want to express themselves intelligently on social media, but are waiting for a platform with substance.

Building an In-House Engineering Team

We are transitioning from an outside software development agency who has helped us iterate through our MVP to a three-to-five-person, in-house software team based in New York, NY. We are looking for experienced software and QA engineers who align with our mission and cultural values, and who want to build a mass-market consumer product.

• Web Application: Laravel / October CMS, Redis, LAMP

• AWS Infrastructure: EC2, RDS, S3, Elastic Search, Load Balancer, Certificate Service

Requirements

• Work with other members of the engineering, product, and design teams to shape our software as we transition from MVP to v1.

• Help us scale to hundreds of millions of users over the coming years by writing and running both manual and automated tests using logical coverage plans.

• Be a proponent of building the highest quality software with goals of 99.999% uptime, test-driven development, and continuous integration and delivery.

• Experience with end-to-end testing: unit, integration, functional.

• Bonus points for experience with TestRail and Jenkins.

• Technical degree with 3+ years of professional QA experience in an agile software environment.
