The Role:
The QA Manager will lead the charge in defining and establishing a broad set of quality expectations across functionality, performance, design, and accessibility for Newsela’s product. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead a team of QA Engineers, QA Analysts, and Automation Engineers in supporting Application Development speed and quality. You will strengthen our QA team’s best practices, ensure we’re deploying modern testing technologies, and empower your team to fully represent the user.

With 6+ years in software testing, you also have several years experience building and leading QA teams, both Manual and Automated testing. You practice lean and flexible software development, are familiar with kanban boards, and have a deep understanding of how QA contributes to the success of agile processes and teams. You have an adept ability to identify and prioritize current and upcoming needs of QA teams, and are able to swiftly build out new processes, systems and structures to optimize team productivity. Your passion for optimization and collaboration translates to the team culture you help to build; you love to motivate and engage your team through continuous development and mentorship, while leading by example.
