ABOUT THE TEAM AND ROLE

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for supporting, planning, design and execution of systems, and the testing of web and mobile application implementations. In addition, the person is responsible for implementing automation testing frameworks wherever possible. Reporting to the Director of Product, the QA Analyst works collaboratively with theSkimm’s Engineering and Product teams as required to develop, execute, automate and validate test plans and results.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Review project documentation to validate requirements, specifications, functions, performance, reliability, usability, testability, scalability and security
  • Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports on multiple projects
  • Perform testing on various web, mobile and software systems
  • Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process
  • Analyze quality assurance metrics and track defects, defect counts and test results

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
  • Familiarity with quality assurance principles, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, web based tools and web architecture
  • Strong familiarity with issue tracking software programs, preferably JIRA and Asana
  • Good project management skills, attention to detail and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data analysis and data verification
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Familiarity with Selenium, Appium or any other automation tool
  • Able to work independently and as team member
  • Five to six years of experience in the QA field
  • Familiarity with API testing
  • Experience with multiple CMSs

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • Experience with tools like Postman, Charles Proxy or Fiddler is a strong plus
  • Experience with Jenkins or version control systems a plus
  • Experience in the media and/or publishing industry is preferred
  • Above average technical skills writing SQL queries
  • Experience on Linux – UNIX
  • Experience with Java, Cucumber, Maven framework a plus
