Intro
Rightpoint is looking for a Lead Developer to join a growing practice primarily focused on building a global commerce platform using React / Next.js. You’d be collaborating with several engineering teams to build and deploy the commerce product across the globe, participating in a rapid engineering environment.

  • Developing B2B digital-commerce technology designed to help businesses grow
  • Engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of technical disciplines including Micro-frontends, Backend-for-frontends, DevOps, Microservices, container-based deployments, and Native App development
  • Architecting digital-commerce experiences
  • Mentoring team members to develop and achieve their career goals

 

 

What You’ll Do and the Impact You’ll Make:

  • Recommend technical approaches and architect solutions for clients
  • Direct engineering effort across a dedicated team of 4-6 developers
  • Guide, mentor, and train developers and client engineering teams
  • Participate in issue resolution to keep team members unblocked on their daily tasks
  • Debug and trace technical issues across technology stacks in collaboration with other engineering teams
  • Work with a dedicated Scrum Master to manage timelines and dependencies
  • Utilize strong soft skills and consulting skills when interfacing directly with clients, stakeholders, engineering managers, and developers across a diverse group of teams from several different countries
  • Manage a team of developers, plan and assign tasks, maintain training plans, and conduct regular one-on-ones
  • Participate in process creation, process adjustment, and technical documentation
  • Participate in an On-Call (7AM to 11PM) emergency response rotation (Currently 3-4 weeks per year)

 What We’d Love to See:

  • 4+ years of experience in web-development using JavaScript
  • 2+ years working in Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience in a client-facing role
  • Experience leading a development team
  • Familiarity with common debugging and application-profiling tools
  • Experience with project management software, e.g. Jira, Access, Smartsheet
  • Experience with version control software, e.g. Git
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
