Role Description
Trail of Bits is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team. You will join the Software Assurance practice, where we engage with clients to review the security of their products, including low-level software, cryptography, and blockchain applications.
As a Sales Engineer, you will speak with potential customers, convey our technical excellence, and sell them our services. Your strong understanding of software development and information security assessments will allow you to independently gather requirements, recommend solutions, scope projects, and get deals signed.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the generation of new business leads
- Schedule and conduct client conference calls or on-site meetings establishing and documenting complex technical requirements
- Collaborate with Practice Managers to define project scope, tasks, and time estimates based on client needs
- Author complex, client-facing documents, including quotes, SOWs, proposals, and methodology literature
- Schedule and staff new projects, fulfilling client deadlines while working around current project schedule and team obligations
- Review project weekly reports and final deliverables to confirm alignment with client needs
Requirements
- Excellent client-facing skills with previous pre-sales or sales support experience of at least two years
- Engineering experience sufficient to independently establish client technical requirements and translate to engineering tasks
- Proven ability to explain technical content to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with engineers as well as senior management up to C-level
- Proven ability to manage client interactions
- Excellent document-writing and presentation skills on complex solutions
