Sales Engineer
Outbrain seeks an experienced Sales Engineer to play a leading role in expanding our programmatic business. You’ll be part of a growing team that is the heart and soul of Outbrain. You are a key technical resource and advisor during the sales cycle and deployment. You will assist and train the client, before, during and after product adoption, relying on your technical know-how combined with company and industry best practices. You will excel in your role thanks to a close partnership with Account Management, Product Management, Engineering, QA and Sales Teams resulting in successful implementation and use of Outbrain’s products. Your knowledge in the complex world of programmatic advertising is crucial for your success. You’ll be working and supporting the top customers in our industry, working alongside very smart people that will challenge you with complex technical challenges and detailed configuration questions. You’ll need to be a people’s person to really blow it out of the park!
Responsibilities
- Be part of the sale cycle and assist the sales team to better educate the client on our solutions while coming up with the right technical implementation that would work well for both the client and us
- Implement, optimize and deploy Outbrain’s solutions alongside the customer’s technical teams
- Utilize Outbrain's platforms and tools along with frontend CSS and JavaScript to successfully satisfy client requirements
- Work with both internal and external parties to handle technical issues quickly and appropriately
- Act as the Outbrain’s representative when working with clients
- Provide technical know-how and best practices to ensure proper implementation of Outbrain solutions to both clients and Outbrain’s teams
- Diligently troubleshoot product issues
- Make technical presentations and demonstrate product features
- Apply fundamental troubleshooting skills to issues before escalating to the appropriate group
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a technical client services environment
- 3-5 years of experience with HTML, CSS, Scripting, server-side technologies (Node.js or PHP) and JavaScript
- 3-5 years of experience with implementing product SDK/API solutions
- 1-2 years experience in a programmatic advertising environment. A plus
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
- Exceptional organization and prioritization skills
- Exceptional client facing skills. We are basically looking for someone super smart and techie, but that feels comfortable pitching a client at the same time
- Ability to work in a constant changing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), a team player
- Ability to actively drive problems to resolution
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues for external clients
- Strong knowledge of Internet technologies and a demonstrated capacity to learn
- Proficiency in XPath(ing)/Regex(ing) content
- Knowledge of SQL
- Bonus: Experience using CRM products
- Bonus: Expert knowledge of XML and RSS Feeds
