About the Role:

Foursquare is seeking an experienced Security Director to lead efforts and implement solutions to keep our users' and customers' data private and our systems secure. You will provide direction to the Foursquare security culture and help steer interactions around security into a collaborative, mutually-beneficial frame. As a member of this team, you will provide security policy and security program implementation direction and coordinate the efforts of the security architect, application security, SRE security, data security, and IT security engineers and PMO. You will interface with VP and execs to align on prioritization vis a vis business goals between possible security work, feature needs and advocate for security-relevant engineering process changes.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of proven industry experience and background in security
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of how to diagnose and shift culture and organizational processes and awareness around security
• Experience with the security of modern cloud services environments, with infrastructure-as-code approaches and data-heavy environments
• Experience with in-house IT and user security issues, including development pipeline security and distributed teams
• Some development skills preferred
• Comfortable with managing many work streams, and coordinating resources and prioritizing work across teams
• Ability to interface with senior management and executives, including assessing and communicating risk
• Provide for professional development of security focused staff
