Security Engineer
SeatGeek is looking to hire a security engineer on our growing security team.
This is a hands-on role, operating in both AWS cloud and physical office environments. This role is a mix of incident response, threat hunting, security engineering, and a trace of red teaming. You're not expected to be an expert in all these areas but should expect to be involved in all of them here at SeatGeek. You'll be identifying visibility gaps, implementing new detection methods, and utilizing existing tools to detect and respond to security events. You'll have the opportunity to write tools, build out modern host and network IDS systems, and work with cutting edge services in AWS.

What you'll do
- Build, prototype, and implement security event detection systems and technologies
- Develop and tune event detection methods at network, host, and application layers
- Automate alert response procedures
- Look for threats, investigate security events, and handle incidents
- Analyze security vulnerabilities and advise on mitigation
- Participate in red team and blue team exercises
- Occasionally perform system forensics
- Fulfill periodic on-call responsibilities
Who you are
- 4+ years in an information security role
- Background in either systems, networking, or incident response
- Ability to practically apply security flaws to simulate attacks
- Ability to script in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, Ruby, or Java)
