As a Senior Software Engineer at Cedar, you will build exceptional applications to transform the way patients, physicians, and health insurance companies collaborate to make healthcare better.

You will be working in a highly collaborative environment, where we partner with product managers and designers to reimagine inefficient workflows to solve some of the core problems of the US healthcare system!

What you will do:

  • One of the biggest challenges this person will face is to identify ways to simplify and streamline complex healthcare decision-making processes. Today, insurance companies employ armies of people to make decisions related to patient care. This process is slow, expensive, and inefficient! Our software will help patients get access to care faster and improve efficiencies for the insurance companies
  • You'll use your experience with Python, NodeJS, SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Typescript, GraphQL, and gRPC to build unique solutions to complex problems every patient in the United States experience
  • You’ll help us to streamline and dismantle healthcare administrative bureaucracy by crafting new technical solutions
  • Use the above-mentioned technologies with a modern build and deploy process that makes it simple to release to production many times per week
  • Build sophisticated applications in an iterative style, responding to customer feedback to continuously improve the product
  • Candidate may have access to PHI/PII data and be subject to HIPAA regulations

Requirements and experience:

  • Extensive experience crafting and shipping complex software applications in a production environment, preferably utilizing Python and/or Typescript
  • Strong data modeling skills at both the database and API levels. Experience with Postgres
  • We’re still in startup mode building products from scratch. We need people who can thrive in ambiguity while building creative solutions
  • Understanding of software development standard methodologies, programming languages, and development environments
  • Self-starter who learns quickly
  • Bachelor's degree related to technology or equivalent experience
