About the Role

We’re looking for an out-of-the-box thinker with deep technology roots; a well organized self-starter who is eager to jump in feet first. You are someone who has helped build robust and scalable consumer products. You can listen to what a customer says they want, prioritize, and help figure out a real solution to their problem. You bring a proven history of initiative, self-direction, creativity, and are a top performer in your current role. Daily work will also include partnering closely with centralized and market-level sales, partnerships, programming, strategy, and corporate HQ teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and scale the backend systems that will power WeWork Labs’ growth in a competitive global market.
• Interface, coordinate & collaborate with different teams across the organization to help us achieve our goals.
• Design, develop and implement applications that support day-to-day operations.
• Plan, develop and implement large-scale projects from conception to completion.
• Develop solutions to improvise performance and scalability of systems.
• Develop and architect lifecycle of projects working on different technologies and platforms.
• Help the development and growth of junior developers.

Requirements

• 6+ years experience
• Advanced proficiency of one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, Go, Ruby, JavaScript, Erlang, etc
• Proven track record developing and scaling robust distributed systems
• Experience with test-driven development code
• Full-stack awareness, but with a focus on back-end
• Experience with data integration; understanding/experience with RESTful API design or WebSockets
• You present well and communicate clearly and effectively to upper management and internal groups.
• Prior experience with Serverless/Lambda a plus
• Prior experience with Docker and Container Orchestration a plus
• Prior experience with AWS ecosystem a plus
