The Role

We’re looking to add a new member to our engineering team: an experienced Senior Build/DevOps Engineer who can help maintain and improve our build automation and continuous integration, summoning their deep technical background to drive new innovation in the tools and systems that help support our cutting edge traffic management platform.

We’re looking for someone who can bring expertise to scale builds of our complex and rapidly growing monorepo. The ideal candidate has broad knowledge of modern CI/CD technologies and can quickly iterate on our current processes. Day to day will work on automating the building, integration, testing, packaging, and distribution of our software. Major focus would be to remove friction and road blocks that impact development teams, reducing build time, and increasing build stability.

Your Skills:

• Have experience with one or more incremental build tools: Pants, Buck, Bazel, or similar
• Operating containerized applications using Docker
• Proficient in Bash, Python, Groovy, Node, Go or C++
• Strong operational knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and deployment automation
• Experienced in DevOps and infrastructure automation
• Experience with the software release process
• Strong knowledge of the following: Jenkins, Git/Github, Cloud Infrastructure Providers (e.g., Digital Ocean, AWS), Packet, make, firewall tools (e.g. Calico)
• Ability to collaborate with developers to design modern internet infrastructure for operability, including metrics, logging, observability, automation, etc.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Experience with both bare metal systems and cloud computing resources

Nice to have:

Experience with

• Good security practices
• Build system DR experience
• BDD test frameworks
• Ansible, Elasticsearch, Hashicorp tools (terraform, nomad, vault, consul)
