About the job:
The Sr. Business Systems Consultant/Sr. Configuration Engineer will help configure and build technology to enable Investment functions (trade flows, accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and automated batch scheduling workflows) for integration with the Investments Accounting Book of Record (Simcorp Dimension). You will possess a creative problem solving, hardworking "can-do" mindset with focus on the collective success of the scrum team to iteratively deliver high quality products to enable the investments business

  • Showcase and continuously build investments finance knowledge to consult on complex technical problems (e.g., gap analysis, infrastructure, interfaces, reporting, and/or data mapping/conversion) to engineer solutions.
  • Support deployment process including cutover plan, post implementation knowledge transfer, and support documentation.
  • Build deep understand of the product and configure software modules according to defined design specs & demonstrate understanding of configuration options for business workflows during Agile ceremonies and sprint review.
  • Partner with the Product Owner and support activities including Product Backlog Refinement, Story Writing, and Acceptance Criteria definition.
  • Collaborates with data engineering and QA team to provide domain and product level expertise to build engineering solutions
  • Assist in system validation, cutover plans, post-implementation support, any issues/defects, transition planning, and knowledge sharing efforts.
  • Provide clearly written technical configuration stories, including requirements, and support documentation to accommodate software batch processing, automated business workflows, and deployment
  • Deliver high quality configuration-based solutions (interfaces, reports, enhancements, and/or conversions) which are accurate and stable measurable by defect counts and production incident rates.
  • Provide Tier II support of software as needed, including vendor or development team escalation to resolve incidents.
  • Coordinate activities in collaboration with production support and development team for daily, month end, quarter end and annual close.


Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Generally, 5+ years of professional experience working as business analyst, system analyst or configuration engineer.
  • Knowledge of investment financial data to serve application integration to trading platform and reporting is strongly desired.
  • Experience with Financial Systems and reporting (Investments accounting/General Ledger).
  • Experience working with various forms of data integrations along with good knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills to demonstrate domain and technical knowledge
  • Experience developing and writing business/functional requirements documents (BRD) and ensuring quality of solutions delivered by the team.
  • Well versed with diverse technologies and modern IT principles and concepts


Preferred:

  • Experience with large scale financial investment/ERP systems (SimCorp Dimension or similar platform) is a big plus.
  • Experience working with SAAS products
  • Experience working on Agile scrum teams in a scaled framework is preferred.
  • Experience in Change Management, Environment Management, and product promotions
  • Experience in Vendor Collaboration and managing resolutions and escalations as needed.
