We are on the lookout for smart and collaborative talent to join our team. As a cloud-based company, we are currently operating in a flexible and hybrid work model.

Job Description

Developer Experience Engineers work on a multidisciplinary team at SIMON focused intensely on improving the common experience across all of SIMON engineering development. The “customers” of our team are our engineering peers, and we engage with them broadly to provide compelling new tools, sort out guidance and best practices across all of our codebases, and collaborate to identify innovations within small groups which can be expanded to impact all of SIMON.

What We’re Looking For

  • A background in Computer Science, such as a C.S. degree, incubator experience, or a track record of programming contributions
  • A passion for honing and refining the craft of software development; you delight in multiplying the effectiveness and impact of your fellow engineers
  • Strong skills in written and spoken English
  • An engineer who likes to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and doesn’t shy away from challenges
  • A self-starter who is not only able to identify issues but has the skills to implement a solution and the drive to evangelize it to other team

There are several skill sets that can succeed in this role, as our overall engineering stack includes cloud services, Scala, Python, and JavaScript. Some collection of Full-Stack engineering and DevOps skills will complement the team.

One or more of the following:

  • Full-Stack engineering experience across multiple platforms
  • Specific deep experience with the Scala, JavaScript, and/or Python ecosystems
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
  • CI/CD experience, especially in the context of AWS
  • Scripting and automation experience, especially with regards to developer environments

We offer a competitive salary and benefits, the chance to work with a curated team of top-notch, highly creative talent, and a fun and agile work environment with many perks in New York City’s Hudson Yards district.
