WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Vestwell's Engineering team is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to contribute to the vision and execution of projects related to Infrastructure, Security, Automation, and Site Reliability.
We aim to follow Agile best practices with a focus on empowering full stack development teams, so that they can own a vertical slice of the product, and are empowered to make decisions and roadmap out a section of the product and business.
You’re a great fit for our team if you can balance detail-oriented tasks with long term strategy. Most of all, you must be passionate about what you create and about the impact it can have.
REQUIREMENTS
The Necessities
- Extensive professional experience in cloud-based infrastructure deployment, systems administration, support and maintenance
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Perl, or Bash)
- Experience in administering Linux or Unix environments
- Production Docker container building, deployment, and orchestration experience
- Scaling infrastructure to support Product and Engineering needs
- Monitoring, Logging, Alerting practices
- CI/CD and release administration
- PostgreSQL Database Administration (e.g. performance monitoring, access control, replication, etc.)
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking including subnetting, DHCP, DNS, access lists, static routing

- SRE (e.g. postmortems, incident management, toil reduction, etc.)

- Software development background
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growing startup
