Meeting your future team:

The Education Engineer will support the development and delivery of onboarding and ongoing education programs for our product and engineering team.

The Technical Enablement team is responsible for onboarding, ongoing education and change management support for Collibra’s product and engineering teams. Our goal is to provide education through live and self-paced programs that keep our product and engineering teams up to date on the latest technologies, software, applications and processes that Collibra is implementing. In addition to educational programs, we support change management by drafting communications, recording tutorial videos, etc.

Reporting to the Technical Enablement Director, the Educational Engineer will work in conjunction with members of the Technical Enablement team and other subject matter experts to build technical course materials including coding exercises, hands on activities, documentation, videos, presentations, etc. Educational Engineers will also be responsible for facilitating courses on topics such as new technology, software, architecture, coding languages, agile practices, etc.

Education Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Support the design, development, and facilitation for software technology training.
  • Ensure curriculum, content, and related assessments are current, technically accurate, and appropriate to the needs of learners. Near-term emphases include agile, cloud, and software engineering, but the Engineer will be expected to develop role-appropriate credibility in new areas as business needs dictate.
  • Collaborate with leaders in Enablement Managers to identify business and technical requirements, determine optimal approaches to creating learning experiences, and lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement those experiences.
  • Maintain credibility with our product and engineering colleagues by staying current in relevant software technical disciplines.
  • Collaborate with Technical Enablement to drive the proper application of technology platforms and learning management systems to deploy, manage and track software technology training.

You Have:

  • Experience as a practicing technologist in software engineering developing B2C or B2B products
  • Demonstrated ability to range across multiple engineering disciplines and to acquire new skills as needed, potentially in short timeframes and through self-directed learning.
  • Demonstrated passion for learning and development, evidenced in part by a strong history of personal learning and development efforts.
  • Experience developing learning programs for others and delivering education to software engineers and other technical colleagues
  • Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively partner with cross functional colleagues and others across several functions.

Measuring Success:

  • Within your first month, familiarized yourself with the product & engineering organization and our tech stack 
  • Within your third month, facilitating and reviewing our engineering onboarding program along with implementing proposed changes to the program
  • Within your sixth month, you will have fully updated the onboarding program, supported the onboarding of another Educational Engineer and developed ongoing education programs
