POSITION DESCRIPTION

As the Senior Hardware Engineer you’ll be responsible for all new hardware iterations and innovation to our FUSE Risk Management Platform. As StrongArm continues to scale and grow to help ALL Industrial Athletes be Proud, Protected, and Productive, we will continue to expand our hardware capabilities and improve existing solutions. 

You will be the central node of the Embedded Hardware defining our various sensors platforms including, Smart Dock hardware, future hardware device integrations, and building amazing solutions for real world problems. This will require you to work closely with the Embedded Firmware team, product management, and manufacturing team to create hundreds of thousands of devices.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Embedded Hardware Innovation

  • Translate high level product requirements into physical hardware, including component selection, system integration, functional schematics, PCB Designs and layouts using CAD software
  • Responsible for prototyping and assessing new R&D initiatives involving different hardware platforms and acting as the internal expert consultant
  • Identify, implement, and execute product improvements iteratively across existing hardware platforms (sensors, docks, tooling, etc)

Hardware Manufacturing Liaison

  • Work closely with internal/external Production & Manufacturing teams as Embedded Hardware lead on components, sourcing, and specifications for mass production ( Bill of Materials management )
  • Provide guidance and expertise for low volume manufacturing with R&D prototypes
  • Work with Manufacturing team to develop and ensure hardware is built to specifications and quality standards


TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed BS or MS in any of Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent industrial experience
  • 5+ years of experience creating embedded systems
  • Ability to independently read and understand schematics
  • Experience with hardware bring-up
  • Experience with microcontrollers + development platforms using ARM / wireless
  • PCB layout design for digital, analog, and mixed signal circuits.
  • Experience with CAD/EDA tools for schematic entry, library creation and PCB layout
  • Experience developing software in C, C++ - Developing/running on an SoC
  • Hands-on experience running bench tests to validate components and prototype designs with test equipment such as signal generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Testing embedded software and test automation
  • Experience interfacing with hardware manufacturers and shipping products in large volume manufacturing phases
  • Experience supporting production


BONUS

  • RF - Developing interactions using LoRA, Bluetooth/BLE, and Wifi protocols. Coherently design and explain connected devices, and the network(s) that support them
  • In-depth understanding of Physics and physical properties of conditions around a wearable sensor
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) 
  • Onshore / Offshore manufacturing experience
