About this Position

Ellevest is seeking a Senior Engineer in Test to join our Engineering team. We are looking for a seasoned QA professional to help us as we scale to support our growing client base. This is a full time engineering role that has great potential to positively impact the operations of every department across the company. You will work with the Engineering, Product, and Customer Experience teams to diagnose issues in our application and verify ongoing fixes. 

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test cases in Javascript, Python, Perl, Ruby or Bash to test our backend components. This includes API testing & financial data testing
• Perform exploratory testing to find new bugs in our backend financial components.

Requirements

• At least two years of professional experience testing applications in an agile setting.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable test code in Javascript, Python, Perl, Ruby or Bash
• Experience using JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, or another issue tracking software
• A strong attention to detail, a natural curiosity, and patience in the face of hard-to-track-down bugs is imperative.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to write thorough, step-by-step bug reports that can be used by Customer Experience and Engineering.
• Experience in testing mathematical, scientific or financial products is a plus.
