Squarespace is looking for an experienced JavaScript engineer with strong design sensibilities and a desire to create interfaces that are a pleasure to use. Frontend engineers at Squarespace are building one of the most advanced interfaces on the web. With it, our customers can easily create beautiful interactive websites and stores. If you are a Frontend Engineer who strives to go beyond what is possible in a web browser, we want to hear from you! You will report to the Engineering Manager and be based within our remote team based in Poland. At this time, all Squarespace employees are working remotely until September 2021, and you will continue to be remote long term in Poland.

You'll Get To…

• Design and build new features into the Squarespace interface
• Take a significant role with other engineers and designers to provide strong customer-focused experiences
• Keep our product updated with the latest frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, and ES2016+
• Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful, pragmatic code)
• Actively contribute to team and company standards
• Encourage the technical growth of your team and teammates
• Mentor junior team members
• Build end-to-end projects and features

Who We're Looking For

• Strong JavaScript development skills, understanding of new ES6 concepts, and demonstrated experience with React or similar user interface libraries
• Working knowledge of TypeScript or other typed languages
• Have full knowledge of the DOM, new HTML5 constructs, and CSS3
• Have experience with Single Page Application development
• Keep up-to-date with the newest technologies
• Develop features and create fulfilling user experiences
• Experience with, web application development
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices
• A sincere commitment to crafting readable and dependable code
• BS in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience
• Bonus points if you have worked with HTML5 Video API and Audio API
