About the Opportunity

Wagmo is on a mission to make it easier and more affordable to be a better pet parent. We are a vc-backed company fresh out of Techstars NY and are growing quickly. The team is lean, diverse, and constantly covered in dog hair. Offices in Flatiron, but flexible work-from-home option.

The Position

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team and help us design, build and scale our Web Applications and back­end systems, including creating/extending APIs, building entirely new applications and services and constructing new feature sets. You will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our company’s web presence. This position is a combination of front-end work and backend development. You will be part of a fast­-paced, passionate and dedicated team tasked with growing Wagmo at a rapid rate. Ideal candidates will have a passion for building cool products as well as an interest in what it takes to build and run a startup, and of course you must love dogs (or cats)!

Qualifications
-Languages: Python, SQL (PostgreSQL), JavaScript, HTML, CSS
-Frameworks: React, React Native, Django, JQuery, RESTful Web Services
-Database design, architecture and change management
-Unix/Linux experience is critical
-Open mind, desire to learn and a love of challenges are much more important than any one of the languages and frameworks listed above
-Entrepreneurial, passionate, easy to work with, comfortable in a small, fast­-paced, agile start­up environment
-UI/UX design and development
-Experience building HTML based templates (by hand) from designed comps with a focus

Key responsibilities
-Front-end/client-side Web development and UX/UI implementation
-Back-end/server-side Web development and database integration
-Translating concepts and designs into functioning application features
-Solve complex business problems by writing simple, effective code
-Cross browser compatibility master
-Take ownership of the customer experience

Nice to have
-Solid understanding of HTTP based applications and limitations, OOP, -familiarity with flowcharts and basic UML for describing software interactions
-Experience designing and implementing User Interfaces over large dynamic data sets
-Data visualization
-HTML5 knowledge
-API development and documentation
