The Atlassian People Technology team is looking for an inquisitive software engineer who will report to the Senior Manager of People Technology to help bring our biggest ideas to life. You understand the need to develop tools that facilitate People initiatives and empower a vibrant company culture. You have ideas about how to automate and simplify our employees' experience. You will have strong technical skills, familiarity with multiple coding languages, and will be excited to work on projects of all types and sizes. With your ear to the ground and a keen awareness of industry advancements, you will always look for ideas to support our growing team and improve our internal culture through enhanced technologies.
What You'll Do:
- Develop an understanding of the systems we use and the needs of employees around the organization, working with the People team to improve the experience of employees working at Atlassian, and demonstrate the value proposition of a given solution you might build
- Manage multiple programs to grow People Tech offerings, and make each initiative easier to adopt across the organization
- Troubleshoot technical issues in real time
- Write documentation and develop best practices in the team
- Develop talent through continuous feedback and coaching
- Build creative technology solutions to transform the way our teams work
Your Background:
- 5+ years of experience designing production-level web applications
- Proficiency in a backend programming language like Python, Node JS and Java
- Mastery of JavaScript with experience building UIs with modern frameworks like React, Angular, Ember, and Backbone along with experience in Typescript
- Experience in service oriented architecture/web services (REST)
- Knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, POSTGRESQL)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline
- Knowledge of the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) with the ability develop custom plugins
- Experience integrating and maintaining third-party tools (e.g. Workday, Jira, Confluence, and Lever)
