Codecademy’s ProX team owns defining the boundary between the free and paid experience on Codecademy, and collaborates across a variety of other product teams to deliver on this goal. The team is constantly working to identify new and engaging ways to improve users’ experience with our platform. Example initiatives on this team could include experimentation, improving learning efficacy, and content recommendations.

What You'll Do
- Implement the features and user interfaces of Codecademy products
- Architect efficient and reusable full stack systems that drive complex web applications
- Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling products
- Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
- Take your ideas from concept to reality; use our experimentation systems to test different variations of our pages to experiment, iterate, learn and repeat
- Be a champion for developing and adhering to engineering standards within the LX team. We want to build high-quality software that’s easy to understand, easy to change, and works the way it’s supposed to
- Put automated testing, tracking and monitoring in place to ensure our website is always working as expected
What You'll Need
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience developing web applications using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/Typescript, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6
- Experience with React and other modern web technologies such as Next.js and Webpack plus an excitement to focus on Front End development projects
- You know your browser APIs and optimizing for frontend performance is a challenge you'll gladly accept
- Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB) or SQL (Postgres) databases
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience with Docker & Kubernetes
- Experience with Go
- Familiarity with GraphQL
