OkCupid is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on private cloud infrastructure to help support staff and critical systems.

We’re a small, tight-knit team, and you’ll work closely with the front-end, back-end, and mobile developers. This is a unique opportunity to be deeply involved in the growth and evolution of an amazing and dynamic product, built on cool technology, by exceptionally talented people.

Daily activities may include the following:

- Design, specification, provisioning and deployment of new systems in a rapidly growing environment

- Working closely with developers to tune both the application stack and databases for optimal performance

- Help to refine internal processes and documentation

- Streamline infrastructure provisioning

- General systems maintenance tasks such as daily review of logs and alerts, managing resource usage, troubleshooting routine automated maintenance and backup processes, applying patches, etc.

- Diagnose and resolve internal system issues

- Write and maintain system scripts/utilities in Bash or Python as needed

- Be a locus of knowledge and learning on the team and the wider companyHelp drive migration of legacy workloads to infrastructure-as-code, private cloud methodologies

- Execution of system-related operations, including off-hour maintenance as required

To land this gig, you will need:

- 8+ years experience with *NIX systems administration

- 3+ years experience with Openstack design, deployment, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting

- Extensive experience with Linux operating systems

- Proficiency in bash and python

- Sound understanding of networking concepts

- Solid understanding of load balancing and HA environments

Bonus points:

- Experience with noSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB, Hadoop, Redis)

- Experience with Kubernetes

- Familiarity with clustered storage solutions, particularly Ceph

- Experience with monitoring solutions

- Experience with TerraformExperience with MaaS and Juju
