Role and Responsibilities
This is an opportunity to shape the infrastructure for our venture-funded business focused on making the home selling experience easier for our customers. If you want to be a leader in scaling a new, innovative business this is the right role for you.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience building and managing cloud infrastructures. You will be responsible for the evolution of our AWS-based infrastructure to support the growing engineering team. We have been managing our infrastructure as a shared engineering responsibility for the last 3 years and are ready to bring dedicated cloud infrastructure best practices and security to the table. Someone who has opinions about the best practices and has built and worked with cloud systems which are secure by default will be successful in this role.
In this role you will:
- Plan and set goals to evolve the infrastructure to support the growing engineering team while keeping best practices and security in mind.
- Work with engineering to build the tools and processes needed to maintain our continuous delivery culture and enable the teams to own their solutions into production
- Be a partner to the security and legal teams as the organization grows
Professional Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Strong knowledge of the AWS ecosystem
- Experience applying automation to the cloud infrastructure using modern infrastructure tooling: infrastructure as code, configuration management, CI pipelines, package managers
- Strong knowledge of Linux system architecture as well as a firm grasp of the linux CLI and shell scripting
- Comfortable with some programming language beyond shell, some examples would be Python, Javascript, Go, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to work across diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- A low ego and can-do attitude; willingness to admit mistakes and work to remedy them
- Flexibility to prioritize deliverables and re-prioritize them at a moment’s notice
- Comfort operating in an ambiguous environment where there's not a set playbook on how to solve each problem
