The Role:

The Senior IT Integration Engineer is a multidisciplinary role that designs, develops, and maintains multi-platform integration solutions in support of Newsela’s Business Systems and Enterprise initiatives. The Senior Integration Engineer will act as a subject matter expert for the business system’s integration framework (multiple and growing list of platforms). The role requires taking ownership of data integration, working side-by-side with stakeholders across business systems and Newsela engineering teams, connecting the dots and using all the tools and techniques available to unlock the value of enterprise application data. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Workato, business process flows, integration principles, standards and strategies to mature our integration capabilities.

This position requires a self-motivated, highly organized individual who works well with finance and technical professionals. You will need to interact effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and will need to have the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. This is both a demanding and exciting position with a company that is going through high growth.

Why You'll Love This Role:

As our first full-time integration hire, you will have the opportunity to play a critical role in the success of our Business Systems and Enterprise Architecture as we scale our teams and applications to support our high growth. Your work will help improve teams’ efficiency by reducing manual work and improving visibility. This will directly contribute to the sound and rapid operational scale of our business, enabling the expansion of Newsela’s reach and bringing engaging, culturally responsive learning content into the hands of K-12 students and teachers nationwide.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 5+ years of experience building and maintaining enterprise integration architectures, via iPaaS (Workato preferred). You are well versed in integration technologies REST, SOAP, ETL, etc. You have a strong understanding of data models to support enterprise and management reporting. In addition to your technical skills, you have experience working in a SOX/public-company environment, are detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and able to work in an efficient and organized manner. You’re continuously improving the delivery system across agile, hybrid and waterfall teams, while exemplifying strong consulting skills to adapt to changing needs in a team-oriented service environment. You’re highly organized and diligent, able to work effectively with finance and technical teammates, in addition to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You’re comfortable operating in a high-growth environment and are excited to mature Newsela’s IT function and integration capabilities as we scale.
