Job Description
The data services team is looking for a senior software engineer to help build out its API infrastructure. We’re a small team of dedicated engineers with a passion for big data and quality code. As a member of our team you’ll have the opportunity to build out microservices from scratch, weigh in on large technical decisions, and collaborate with other teams of a highly technical and financial nature.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in software engineering
- Experience in Java or another JVM-based language
- Track record of impactful contributions on web application projects
- Exposure to both NoSQL / relational databases
- Familiarity with git
- Proficiency in writing useful/maintainable unit testing code
- Experience in application architecture and infrastructure (setting up logging, testing, build scripts, etc.)
- Experience in object-oriented programming
- Experience in API development
Bonus Points
- Experience with demand driven architecture (GraphQL, Falcor, etc.)
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Experience with Node.js (Express, Koa)
- Programming experience in JavaScript (ES6)
- Exposure to micro-service architecture
- Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes or related technology
- Familiarity with AWS is highly appreciated, especially EC2 and S3
- Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with Jira
- Experience with Unix based operating systems.
- B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Math or related fields is a plus
