What is Fundera? 

Fundera is transforming the world of business finance by replacing old school loan brokers with a smart and intuitive online shopping experience. We’re a tech company first and a financial company second. But, most importantly, we’re fiercely mission-driven.

Who Are We Looking For?

Our team is looking for someone to help our engineers move faster and more efficiently. How can we speed up our build times? Decrease the time it takes to run our test suite? Capture and display more metrics, and feed them into automated alerting? You’ll have the freedom to tackle large, open-ended questions like these and use your skills and experience to have an impact across the whole team.

Because you’ll be working on tools and systems that all of our engineers rely on daily, it’s important that you feel comfortable seeking out feedback and incorporating it into your designs. Communication, continuous learning, and a willingness to teach others will be a big part of your success.

Finally, as we grow, the long term plan is to build out a team around this role. Coming in on the ground floor, you’ll have the opportunity to define the mission and culture of what the team can be.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll …

• Increase the frequency and reliability of our deploys
• Become the point person for our AWS setup and configuration
• Consider rolling new tools into our stack, like Splunk/ELK stack, Kafka/Kinesis, Looker/Tableau
• Fine tune our postgres instance, helping engineers identify and speed up slow queries or make changes to our schema
• Examine new approaches around caching
• Graph everything! We love dashboards and metrics at Fundera.
• Speed up our test suite run time through parallelization, changes in our testing philosophy, or other performance improvements
• Anything else you can dream up!

You’ll Need to Have …

• Proficiency navigating unix environments
• 5+ years of experience working with web systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Past experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers
