Description
We are looking for someone to join our team. This team is focused on using satellite and aerial imagery to better understand and predict environmental patterns. Our mission is to link changes in the natural world to decisions about capital deployment and risk management - driving investment and products that tackle the climate crisis.
You'll build products that predict and simulate Earth systems and how they interact with the built environment. The goal is to enable users to understand how mitigation actions would shift their risk profile.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Research and assess new data sources
  • Maintain and build data pipeline
  • Support ML training, test, and validation work
  • Develop ML and physics-based models for Earth systems applications where ML can bring hockey stick growth
  • Present findings to team members, internal and external stakeholders, and help set a direction for future development
  • Design and run ML simulations for environmental phenomena such as wildfires
  • Fetch and pre-process geospatial and multimodal data in a highly parallel environment
  • Create and maintain Google Cloud infrastructure for software development and high-volume production systems
  • Work should be done within Pacific time zone (mandatory)


REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in an associated field or other advanced certification along with equivalent experience
  • At least 3+ years of experience with Python
  • Java background is a plus
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with machine learning systems, algorithms, or applications such as: deep learning, computer vision
  • Completed coursework in calculus, linear algebra, and probability, or their equivalent
  • Experience with open-source tools such as Git, TensorFlow, Google Compute Engine, etc

  • Experience with using ML on image files and images that change over time
