Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Manager (Turbonomic, Inc., White Plains, New York): Responsible for providing technical leadership for a Quality Assurance team engaged in the testing of full stack engineering projects involving Cloud computing, Virtualization, SDN, Containers, and a Software Defined Data Center.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical leadership in the design, development and documentation of software testing and to accomplish testing within time and resource constraints.
  • Contribute to test case reviews and match test cases to technical design/specifications in collaboration with the product management and software development teams.
  • Work with Software Development and senior management to help shape the direction of assessing and improving product quality.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance team resources in order to ensure that software testing initiatives are adequately staffed and that targets for software testing timeframes and analyses of quality of products are achieved. 
  • Work closely with Project Management, Release Engineering and Customer Support teams to plan, track, and coordinate necessary tasks to evaluate and ship product releases and updates on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage the day-to-day project related activities of the team. This will include: 
  • o Analyze customer needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of software testing within time and cost constraints;
  • o Store, retrieve and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements; and
  • o Design, run, and monitor software test systems for the purpose of detecting, diagnosing and reporting errors and measuring performance.
  • Provide technical leadership with respect to the continuous improvement of engineering processes at Turbonomic.
  • Keep current on emerging software testing methodology and make recommendations.
  • Lead and mentor team members and participate in and promote a knowledge-sharing environment.

Note: This is a technical lead position responsible for providing leadership and guidance to its Team on projects including work and resource allocation. Does not have hiring or firing authority over Team members.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or a foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field and 3 years of experience designing and implementing tests to establish the release and testing foundation for distributed systems including enterprise software that is used to manage applications, storage, networking and virtualization technologies.

Must also have: (I) Demonstrated background in Linux operating systems, software testing and validation, networking and virtualization technologies including VDI, Windows Server, and VMware technologies. (II) Demonstrated experience creating test cases and test plans to assess quality of software products. (III) Demonstrated experience working with bug tracking using Redmine, Bugzilla and JIRA. (IV) Demonstrated experience reviewing, investigating, and verifying software bugs. (V) Demonstrated experience with planning and tracking testing of features for software releases. (VI) Strong communication and team building skills.

Location

We have an office right across from Grand Central Station and another larger office right outside the city in White Plains NY.
