As a Search Relevance engineer on our Search & Discovery team, you will help improve our core search and discovery technology. You'll work closely with engineers, data scientists, product, and designers to help find needles in the haystack! You will immediately see the impact of your work and get feedback and suggestions directly from users as we continually improve our search capabilities. Your work will power the next generation of features to help us build our knowledge on demand offering.

You will:

• Apply your knowledge of search, information retrieval, and relevance tuning to very interesting ranking problems
• Write high quality code in both a high level backend language (Kotlin, Ruby, etc) and modern front end framework (React)
• Work within a highly collaborative and supportive team of Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers, and Product Managers
• Help apply recent advances in Machine Learning, NLP, and Information Retrieval to challenging, business-critical problems
• Help ingest, index, and expose all sorts of data, even helping guide the data generation process itself. We are a data centric team.

You might be a fit if you:

• Have 3+ years of experience
• Have industry experience in search, information retrieval, recommendation engines, or relevance tuning
• Enjoy working across the full stack, contributing to all aspects of a project
• Thrive in a collaborative environment with other highly skilled, motivated and always-curious team members. We love learning from one another!

• Love working with data and customer feedback to drive decision making
• Possess strong architectural experience
• Pick up new ideas and technologies quickly
• Have a Computer Science degree (or equivalent)
