Joining Collibra’s Security Engineering and Operations team:

Collibra is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking security professional to join the Collibra Security Office (CSO). In this exciting new role within the Security Engineering and Operations team, you will help define the future of security technology at Collibra. With data becoming the new most valuable resource, companies are leveraging platforms like Collibra to leverage their data’s value in a unified way.

As a Security Engineer, you will help lead the establishment of the next generation of security technologies at Collibra. Your primary focus will be on building the technologies and processes to continuously enhance our security posture. Your responsibilities will include partnering with IT, Engineering, and Cloud Operations to embed security by design to enable high growth and transformation to a world-class enterprise.

Security Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Building the necessary capacity to support Corporate IT, Engineering, and Cloud Operations teams including, but not limited to, vulnerability and patch management, incident response, threat analysis, endpoint security, and zero trust cloud service access.
  • Contributing to the development of architectural requirements and corresponding engineering processes and technologies to support Collibra worldwide.
  • Developing, and ensuring compliance with, controls built for a cloud-native enterprise.
  • Planning, organizing, and controlling multiple responsibilities and sometimes competing requests to achieve desired objectives.
  • Additional tasks include supporting the team during security incidents and investigations; working with broad teams to advance the security posture of Collibra.
  • After hours incident response on-call may occasionally be required.

You Have:

  • Minimum of 6 years IT/Security experience across a wide range of disciplines
  • At least 3 years direct working experience with security management technologies in areas such as Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, Incident Detection and Response. Broad expertise preferred over deep single domain knowledge.
  • An understanding of modern threat landscape and how to design and apply appropriate technical and procedural controls
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and/or frameworks (i.e.: FedRAMP, SOC2, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001/2, etc.)
  • Certified with one or more of the following: CISSP, CISM, SANS/GIAC, or similar certifications

You Are:

  • Self-motivated and driven with an ability to execute with little supervision
  • Eager to learn new technologies and methodologies
  • Comfortable with ensuring security has a voice in technical design and implementation
  • An expert in presenting and communicating with both internal and external partners
  • Familiar with security by design principles and helping educate technical engineers to build security into their processes

Reporting to Collibra’s Director of Security Engineering and Operations, a Security Engineer’s measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you will absorb fundamental knowledge about Collibra processes/tools and start building team & cross-functional relationships.
  • Within your third month, you will take ownership of one or more key security-run platforms, and develop and achieve quarterly OKRs (Objectives & Key Results).
  • Within your sixth month, you will drive for consistent, repeatable, documented processes for security-run platforms, improve efficiency and hand off for ongoing operations, and improve customer satisfaction.
