The Role
We're looking for a Senior Security Engineer to find, implement and manage new security tools to improve GoGuardian security posture. In this role, you'll join our expanding engineering team to protect our infrastructure and ensure GoGuardian sensitive data is kept confidential and our security controls are intact. This position sits on the Tech Foundation Team, a team that enables GoGuardian engineers, from software engineers to data scientists, to deliver high-quality products at speed, where quality includes but is not limited to functionality, reliability, availability, security, privacy, etc.
What You'll Do

• Administer and maintain security systems and tools, including software updates, configuration, and control reviews
• Help review and design systems that improve the security of application software and infrastructure
• Partner with other engineers to design and build effective security tools by sharing a high-level understanding of security policy, risk, and/or access management
• Monitor, detect, and report threats directed against the GoGuardian's networks and systems
• Identifying security measures to improve incident response
• Design and review systems that improve the security of application software and infrastructure
• Drive cross-functional and strategic programs across the data protection and cloud security
• Identify solutions to reduce risk and enhance GoGuardian prevention and detection capabilities
• Working with engineers and data scientists across the organization on security-related projects and operational tasks to continually improve cyber resilience

Who You Are

• 5+ years of work experience as a Security Engineer or related position
• 3+ years of practical cloud infrastructure security experience
• Experience with one or more core security concepts: application security; operating systems security; authentication, authorization, and identity systems; secure coding practices; network and web security protocols
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001/2, or equivalent
• Experience scripting and coding to implement and/or verify security solutions. Go (Golang), Javascript, Python, Java/Scala, or shell scripting languages are preferred
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
• Eager to take initiative in a fast-paced, ever-changing, dynamic environment
