Senior Software Engineer, Back-End

As a backend software engineer, you will be building, managing, and advancing our best-in-class investing intelligence engine. You will have significant ownership and be responsible for everything from gathering requirements and designing systems to implementation, release, and monitoring. We strive to keep project teams small to enable speed.
What you will own
- Design and implement advancements to our core portfolio engine.
- Design and implement systems to power and scale our trading team.
- Develop core data models for managing portfolios and surfacing key insights to advisors.
- Build services to serve and optimize our client-facing product.
- Architect pipelines and processes for ingesting, processing, and incorporating market data into our core product.
- Partner with quantitative engineers to conduct data analysis, as well as design and implement ML algorithms to better portfolio creation and management
What you will bring on Day 1
- 5+ years of software development experience outside of education and internships
- Experience with Python, Golang, TypeScript, or a comfort with learning them.
- Experience with relational databases—we use Postgres.
- Foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with great problem solving abilities.

- Financial background or previous work with financial data.
- Experience managing and utilizing data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Airflow or an equivalent pipeline management system.
