Casper is searching for a Senior Software Engineer to join our E-Commerce (Site Experience) team, the team is focused on making our customer's journey through the website the best experience on the web. As a company built on a strong digital foundation, technology is integral to our e-commerce vision and how customers interact with the Casper brand online. As a senior engineer, you’ll play a key role in architecturing and  building software that enables teams across the Casper organization to bring delightful experiences to our customers.

All of Casper’s sleep products — including its pillow, bedding, and furniture — are developed in-house by the company’s award-winning R&D team in San Francisco. When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do

• Lead the execution, planning and release of E-Commerce focused projects that focus on improving the customer experience.
• Deliver high quality peer-reviewed Javascript code across the browser and server that adheres to best practices.
• Work closely with Tech Ops and Product to lead the technical architecture and ownership of projects with major company impact.
• Dream up creative solutions and identify opportunities to provide value to the company and delight our customers.
• Develop applications end-to-end, working with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies that solve problems and delight users.

Our dream candidate

• Knowledgeable about NodeJS to be able to build and maintain systems to support our front-end applications and infrastructure.
• Comfortable developing modern ES6 code using React/Flux code base built with PostCSS and Webpack.
• Building thoughtful and fault tolerant applications reliant upon APIs.
• Well versed in using and deploying AWS services in production.
• A clear communicator that can reduce ambiguity and promote transparency with team members and co-workers
• Proactive. You can independently seek out answers and own project responsibilities
• Experience with working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a big bonus!!!
• Experience working with server-side rendering (e.g. Nxt.js or Gatsby) a big bonus!!
