Job Description

We are seeking a senior software engineer to lead development of new frontend web features central to bringing medical imaging to new areas of patient care. Our team is building leading-edge solutions in ultrasound education, clinical workflow tools, and home use of ultrasound. Join us in solving challenging, mission critical problems that will make our technology accessible to 40 million physicians and billions of people worldwide.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be to: 

  • Lead, design, and implement large features (3-6 months, with cross-team collaboration) to support our use in large hospitals, with a focus on frontend but working across the stack when necessary
  • Uphold and evolve team standards for frontend code quality
  • Improve developer productivity by planning and implementing architectural improvements in a complex React/Typescript codebase
  • Own business problems, shape ideas into system designs and lead developers through execution
  • Mentor and lead other engineers to achieve our goals

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and building complex frontend features in single-page applications, especially in React and Typescript
  • A history of improving developer productivity by building reusable components, improving build tooling, and developing test infrastructure
  • Ability to work across the stack as needed to complete projects
  • A track record of owning business problems and leading developers to deliver effective solutions in a modern web architecture

Ideally, you also have skills and experience in these areas (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

  • Experience building design systems or CSS frameworks
  • GraphQL and related frameworks e.g. Relay, Apollo, and URQL
  • Web apps with live updates - pub/sub solutions (such as Redis), WebSockets
  • SQL (especially modern versions of PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases
