Commodities Electronic Trading (CMET) provides trade workflow for commodity trader in both block future and bi-lateral swap trading. We cover all commodity segments including oil, power, gas, metals and ags. We serve corporate clients that need to hedge their commodity consumption by entering bi-lateral trades with banks. We also serve the broader commodity trading community by enabling a block future workflow where trades end up in a clearing house (e.g., CME, ICE). In addition to our strong ties within Global Markets, our engineering team is closely aligned with the core commodity product, sales and engineering teams to help deliver an integrated solution from price discovery through to trade workflow.

Who are we?

A small team of engineers building a brand new product for Bloomberg. We already have a product up and running by traders in large companies. As engineers, we are constantly evolving and enhancing our system to support new trading workflows and new instruments, and we want you to join us. Our goal is to bring the first electronic solution to the commodities market and revolutionize how it trades. To do this, we're partnering with product, clients, and business owners who are excited to design an entirely new system.

Who are you?

An experienced software engineer who is excited about building a new CMET platform. You have experience in the full software development life-cycle, from requirements gathering and design phases to coding, testing, and supporting production issues. You're excited to work on all parts of the system including backend, UI, infrastructure and databases. You take pride in your work and always look to take ownership of your project/product and key initiatives within the team. You don't need to know ins and outs of finance just yet, but you're eager to learn more about it along with the technical challenges it brings.

You’ll need to have:

  •  3+ years of experience programming in C++
  •  Professional knowledge of object oriented design, algorithms and data structures
  •  Strong communication skills

We’d love to see:

  •  Knowledge of UNIX-like systems
  •  Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript
  •  Familiarity with relational databases
  •  Understanding of financial markets (or interest in learning them)
