WHAT YOU’LL DO
We're looking for a Software Engineer 2 for our Data Lake team. The Data Lake team manages the massive amount of event data we store in our almost 2+ petabyte data warehouse in Snowflake, how it is organized/streamed/replicated, and how it is accessed. Tens of billions of messages are inserted daily that are then shared with internal customers for reports and services and also to external customers through Snowflake's secure data sharing. We build various python/Java tools and services to facilitate and automate multi-region, multi-platform configuration deployments, and schema changes.
WHO YOU ARE
- 2+ years of relevant experience with a strong track record of success
- Have strong and good opinions about how code should be written, as well as good development practices
- Experience building highly available services and solutions with Python (or similar)
- Familiar with modern data warehousing/BI/analytics
- Excellent communication skills and a user-centric attitude
- Calm, patient, considerate, compassionate, supportive, and encouraging
- Strong organizational skills and ability to keep track of multiple streams of work at once. A self-starter inspired to perform without structured guidance.
- Experience with agile processes and tools such as JIRA
- Beneficial experiences: Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, Java, Ruby, Redis, Snowflake, Kubernetes, Docker, Postgres
For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $116,000 and $171,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $145,000 and $180,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
