Who You Are: You’re an engineer who has several years under your belt, and wants to help a team make a unique product built on open source technology. You're passionate about and supportive of your coworkers. You want to help lead part of a small and dedicated team that makes great products users actually want. Above all you’re an enthusiastic engineer with strong interpersonal skills who loves solving problems and facilitating the professional growth of your teammates.

As a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack Web Applications) at Neverware, you’ll be working on our engineering team to continue to develop great products and deliver them to customers who need them. You’ll be primarily developing the web services that support our operating system as well as helping to improve and expand our customer portal at my.neverware.com.

You’ll specifically be responsible for:

• Helping to take customer product requirements and UI / UX from specification to reality on my.neverware.com
• Maintenance and enhancement of the backend web services that support CloudReady installations around the world
• Maintenance and enhancement of our critical web-based internal tools used for things like hardware tracking and CloudReady update channel metering
• Database schema definition and maintenance for all of our internal and customer-facing web services
• Definition, maintenance and extension of our development and production AWS environment architectures
• Once you become comfortable in the role you may have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position on the team, helping other engineers be happy and maximally productive
• You can expect to work with a wide variety of languages and technologies (Ruby, Javascript, and Python all come up frequently)

Requirements:

• Recently developed and maintained web application software that operates at scale in a production environment
• Experience with the following technologies: Express (Node.js), Ruby on Rails, SQL, HTML 5, CSS, jQuery, Git
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Successful technical leadership on prior software projects

Bonus Experience:

• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Experience with the Chromium Browser and/or Chromium OS source code
• Experience with AWS, particularly: DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk, API Gateway, LambdaSQS, CloudFormation
• Experience with Python / Django
• Experience with Memcached, Redis, Elasticsearch
• Experience with Sass / SCSS
• Experience with Angular / React / Ember
