About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on specific projects critical to Particle Health’s back-end needs with opportunities to switch projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be hungry to tackle new problems across our entire company as we continue to push both the technology and the industry as a whole forward.
Particle Health’s software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that will change how millions of patients are able to leverage their medical records to better their care. Our products need to simplify healthcare data standards at nationwide scale. We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including other healthtech companies, information retrieval, distributed computing, security, machine learning and natural language processing.
Areas of Responsibility
- Lead/contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around the health data interoperability space.
- Design and build advanced automated build, test, and release infrastructure.
- Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
- Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate to influence design for testability.

QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience in any of the following programming languages: Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with health data formats like HL7 V2, CDA, FHIR.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience in debugging, performance improvement, optimization, and refactoring code.
- Experience in one or more of the following: automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, building tools.
- Experience in building internal tools from scratch.
- Experience and interest in reducing bottlenecks and streamlining processes.
